Martin Family Medicine Open House

Steven and his coworkers have been diligently working and planning all week for a big event, the Martin Family Medicine open house! This was Steven's opportunity to welcome the community to his practice. Honestly, I hadn't even seen the whole practice up until today, I had only seen the waiting room. It was a beautiful sight to see his diplomas hanging in his office, pictures of our kids on the shelves, and to see all the beautiful touches that make Martin Family Medicine a truly welcoming medical home for families. I'm so, so proud of Steven and how hard he has worked to make his dream of a quality family practice come true in Martin County!

I have to take my hat off to these lovely ladies; they make life so much more pleasant for Steven. They keep him organized, productive, and sane in the midst of the craziness of his schedule. On the left is Jamie Woolard and on the right is Debbie Bryant.
And here are all of the folks who make and have made Martin Family Medicine possible. Thanks to Steven's parents for encouraging him to pursue his dream, hats off to my kiddos for sacrificing time with their daddy so that he can meet the medical needs of the community, and thanks to my mom for not pulling the rug out from under Steven when we were dating in high school:)

A Visit from the Feathers

The Feather family are very dear friends of ours from Greenville. Mike is the pastor of Crossroads Bible Fellowship, the church that Steven and I helped plant 7 years ago and we got very close to the whole family as we ministered together in Greenville. We had the special treat of having the Feather four come and visit us on Wednesday night and it was so refreshing. We haven't seen their son Kohl since we moved last July and I feel like he's grown a foot! The twins got to have a playdate with Noel and mommy, Pam, a couple of months ago, so they were more familiar. It was wonderful to see our kids get reacquainted and to simply spend time with dear friends.

Our kids had the most fun with the simple toys of masks and capes. Here are our little super heroes!

Mima's Birthday

Today we celebrated Steven's mom's (affectionately known as Mima) birthday. It was a special treat to have Steven's family over for dinner and celebrate such a special lady. I can't brag enough on my mother-in-law and I truly am thankful that she is my mother-in-law and such a precious grandmother to my children. We love you Mima! Happy birthday!

Mima and Papa with the grandchildren. We were all playing by this point in the evening, tough to get the twins to focus.

Papa reading the twins a bedtime story. Another priceless moment!

Just a Few Pictures

The twins got this awesome house as a Christmas gift from a dear family friend. They LOVE it! Can you tell?

Nothing like a little Mima time before bed!!!

If Berkley becomes a high school baseball star, I can see this picture being in his senior slideshow.

A Super Cuddly Night

My kids were cuddly tonight, which was a blessing to this mama's heart. The twins are always on the go these days and to get them to slow down long enough for a hug or a kiss is always a difficulty. Not tonight though. Berkley started the cuddle fest. I held him in my arms like I did when he was a baby and he actually liked it. I started kissing his face and he squealed with giddiness. So I just kept kissing, saying he was so sweet he must be made of sugar. He loved it! When I said I'd kissed him enough, he asked for more. Ah, I was a happy mama because Berkley, especially, is tough to ever get a hold of, let alone kiss. Then of course, Meredith wanted in on the mama love, so I got to kiss and love her too! Even Grandma got in on the action and got to rock Berkley for a little while. It's sweet moments like these that I don't ever want to forget!!!

I had my phone close by and the twins actually cooperated and let me take some photos. They're not the greatest quality, but it's the love in the pictures that I'm happy about.

Roberson Family Christmas

Today we were blessed to celebrate Christmas with Steven's paternal grandmother's family, the Robersons. We gathered at Steven's great Uncle Ben's restored Grist Mill. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I wish you all could see all of the antique mill equipment Uncle Ben has stored here and the actual mill still works. We enjoyed spending time with our extended family so much and the beautiful surroundings made it all the more special.

Welcome 2012!

Once again, what a difference a year makes! Berkley's gotten rid of that pacifier and Meredith now has a head full of curls. I just love comparing photos and seeing how much my twins have grown. More proof that my babies are growing up so fast is that Meredith learned to dribble a basketball yesterday and Berkley learned to pedal his tricycle. I can't imagine all the things they'll learn in 2012!
