We finally got some snow!

When the weatherman began reporting snow for eastern North Carolina yesterday, I was very apprehensive. I mean, they forcasted snow for Sunday and we never saw one flake. They forcasted the snow beginning anywhere between midnight and 5am. When I woke up at 5:30am to use the bathroom (as I do frequently now that I'm well into the 2nd trimester) I peeped out the window with great expectations. What did I find? Only rain. I was sorely disappointed. However, when Steven left for work around 6:45 this morning he informed me that snow was coming down beautifully. Yay!!! Work was on a 2 hour delay and I opted to take the day off. I'm a bit overly precautious and was afraid I might fall or something. Anyway, it was a glorious day in the snow, I think we got between 5-6 inches.

I made two batches of snow cream and one batch is already nearly gone...I may make more tonight. Poor Steven had to work until after 4pm, so he wasn't home to share all of the excitement with me, but thankfully Heather was here:) We made pancakes and sausage around 11am and played a little outside with Larry. Larry absolutely LOVES the snow...he acts crazy when he gets outside in it; running back and forth and tossing his nose in it. I caught a little of his response on video, which I tried to post, but the blog wouldn't upload. I'll see if Steven can play around with it and we'll post it later. Steven came home like a giddy school boy and quickly prepared himself to go play in the snow. We threw a few snowballs and took a few pictures of our first snow in our new home. Overall, it was a great day and I LOVE the snow!!!

We're Kickin'

Fun times tonight - I felt the babies really kick for the first time. Up until now it's just been flutters but tonight I felt a strong kick. I felt the first one and then put my hand on my belly to see if I could feel it on the outside...and about that time I felt the second kick. It was wonderful! Steven wasn't home though, which stinks, but thankfully my friend Heather was here and she felt a 3rd kick. It's all so exciting!

22 week check-up

(Meredith is pic on top and Berkley on the bottom)

I had a 3rd ultrasound today, this was scheduled just to measure the growth of the babies b/c the docs were a little concerned by the fact that there was a 20% discordance between the boy and girl (he was significantly bigger). We were blessed to have my mother and father-in-law accompany us to the appointment, which made it all the more fun! The measurements today show hat both of the babies have grown steadily and are very healthy. They still have a 20% discordance, which leads us to believe that the girl is just naturally smaller. Meredith is weighing about 1 lb. 3 oz. and Berkely comes in at 1 lb. 7 oz. - which sounds beautiful to me! They're heart rates were healthy; Meredith @ 160 and Berkley @ 140. Berkley sucked his thumb for us to see and Meredith held her legs up to her head - at one point her feet were actually above her head...crazy flexibility. The doctor didn't have any concerns and I'm feeling great! People at work have commented this week that my belly has finally gotten round and I'm starting to have the pregnancy waddle, which is fine with me...at least for now, we'll see how I'm feeling about it in a few weeks. I'm just thrilled to know that my babies are developing normally.
