Treasuring Family Time

I love the month of April! You know why? Because not only is it the month that my children were born, but it's the month that both my nephew and niece were born, which translates into lots of birthday celebrations to bring the Manning family together! It's especially great this year, as Berkley and Meredith are big enough to play with their cousins, Hutch and McKinley, whom they absolutely ADORE! We got to spend some special time with the Mannings today at the First Christian Church's Family Fun Day event. Papa and Mima were there with their new horses, Bob and Bill, giving all the children horse drawn carriage rides. Here are some fun pictures from our day.


Here are all four grandchildren in the front of the carriage with Mima and Papa. I wish I could of gotten a better shot, but it's tough to get a good photo with the horses moving, not to mention the kids. You talk about two happy grandparents, that was Mima and Papa for sure!


And these photos are so special to me. Words just can't express how happy it makes my heart to see my babies with their Papa. There is always an ache, knowing that my daddy can't love on my babies the way I know he would if he were healthy. I think of how my daddy would want to take them around his farm. He would have had both of them on a tractor by now and he'd absolutely adore that Berkley loves baseball already. All this to say, I recognize what a gift it is to have a healthy granddaddy around to love, care for, and to be an example to my kids. I want my kids to know what a treasure their grandparents are!
