LOST

For those of you who may not have been on the planet Sunday night, the finale of the epic show LOST finally aired. Steven and I have been huge fans of the show since 2005, after our dear friends Kim and Craig Morrisette let us borrow the first season on DVD. It's really the only show we watch now and I must admit, it's hard to see it go. What better way to say goodbye to an island and characters you've grown to love but with a party! We made it even more fun by deciding to dress up like characters from the show!

Steven was Christian Shepherd and I was Ilana Verdansky. I even brought the dynamite, which eventually led to my characters demise.

Katie and Shane were Jack Shepherd and Claire.

Kim and Craig were Kate and Hugo. Check out the Mr. Cluck's chicken!

Kim and Craig hosted the whole shindig and went all out, even going as far as to send each invitee boarding passes on Oceanic Flight 815.

They also decorated all the food with Dharma Initiative labels. We had dirt cake with crashed airplanes on top and a peanut butter pie with a Dharma symbol in icing on top. As you can see, we all went to the extreme to get into the LOST spirit and it was so much fun. I felt like a kid again! And God even used the evening to teach us all patience and flexibility. For some reason the local ABC station was down and the only thing on the screen was black. As you can imagine, we were all panicking just a bit. I mean, of all nights for this channel to be down, it's the night of the biggest finale in recent history! We eventually took the party to our house and got a good laugh out of it in the end.

Overall, I was pleased with the finale. There are a lot of theories out there on what actually happened and I feel like I have a pretty good understanding for myself, which gives me closure. All of my questions were not answered, but I've come to terms with the reality that they just aren't ever going to be answered and that's the way it's got to be. But what better way to say goodbye than with good friends!

It looks like y'all had a blast. I LOVE your costume! Y'all certainly went to a lot of trouble, and I know it was totally worth it. I love you so much.
