Berkley and Meredith Turn 3
Saturday, April 28th was Berkley and Meredith's 3rd birthday. It is so hard for me to believe that it was three years ago that we first met our babies. Berkley and Meredith, you have been a lot of work, but so much more joy to my life and to everyones' lives who love you. Berkley, you are a beautiful, spunky little boy. You love everything boy; cars, tools, balls, mud puddles, and any activity outside. Your favorite place to be in the whole world is at your Mima and Papa's house. Pretty much every morning when you wake up, the first words out of your mouth are something about going to Mima's house today. As a matter of fact, last week I woke you up and before you'd even opened your eyes you sleepily mumbled something about Mima's house. You love exploring Papa's barn and seeing all of his horse and farm equipment. When you get hurt or angry, you don't like for me to hold you or comfort you and yet at the most random times the cuddly, adorably sweet and gentle Berkley comes out and you let me hug you, sing to you, or rock you and sing Rock A Bye Baby, or you say something sweet like you did the other night at the dinner table when you looked at me and said, "beautiful mommy." You like to do the exact opposite of whatever I'm asking you to do and you like to say silly words; I say you're learning to skat and that maybe you'll be a jazz musician one day. My favorite words that you say right now are purple and bouncy. I can't really describe how you say purple, other than to say you somehow mix up the "le" sound at the end and instead of bouncy you say boincy...I LOVE it! You and Meredith are learning now that you are best friends. You like to kiss each other good night, which is an adorable sight to behold. Meredith, when you kiss Berkley goodnight, you like to be silly and instead of saying, "Mmm" when you kiss, you say, "Mmmonkey" and you both giggle like crazy. Meredith, sweet, silly, and spunky are the best words to describe you. You love to make people laugh. You have an amazing vocabulary and you and Berkley both love to be read to and to tell stories yourselves, especially stories about the big bad wolf. I love your little voice; I call it your munchkin or chipmunk voice. I know you'll grow out of that little voice soon enough, so I relish hearing it right now. Meredith, you have already learned how to use intonation and timing correctly to make people laugh and the faces you make are hilarious...you never cease to amaze me. Like at dinner tonight, you said the word "precisely"...crazy! You and Berkley are crazy about dancing, especially to bluegrass music, especially when wearing your new cowboy boots. Meredith, you like for me to sing "Hush Little Baby" before you go to sleep and you like to tell me exactly the order of things for our bedtime routine, and boy do I get in trouble if I shy away from the routine in any way. You two slept in your toddler beds for the first time tonight and I have to admit, I think it's a bigger deal for mommy than it is for you. I can't believe you are both so grown. Your daddy and I love you so very much!!!
We enjoyed celebrating your birthday by throwing a big cowboy party on Saturday. You two love pretending to be cowboys, so we thought it was a perfect theme. Lots of friends and family came out to celebrate with us and you guys played nonstop. Happy 3rd birthday to my sweet babies!
Papa made this awesome sawhorse horsy and all the kids enjoyed trying to lasso the horsy.
Here's how you two like to kiss goodnight. It's pretty sweet.

Oh gracious! They are precious. I think I said this on your post for their birthday last year but, has it REALLY been that long since you told us you were pregnant with twins?!
